Puriplast Hellas a.e. established: Spurred by an ever increasing demand for laminates, the Puricelli Group decides to launch new production operations in the Mediterranean region, inaugurating a production site in Athens, Greece and, later, another site – also in Greece – just a short distance from Thessaloniki international airport.
A time of momentous social and economic change in Europe and the rest of the world, leading to intense development in industrialised production. This year sees the Puricelli Group mark another major milestone in its development, pioneering the process of globalisation and paving the way for many other multinationals in the global laminate sector. The group chooses Spain for this strategic move, founding PURIPLAST IBERICA s.a. in Chiva (Valencia).
The Puricelli Group takes another step forward towards vertical process integration by establishing the group’s first resin manufacturing and paper impregnation department at the Costa Masnaga plant. Analogous departments would later be introduced in all the other plants of the group.
The year of evolution and growth. Despite scepticism from other manufacturers, the group starts to produce the first CPL laminates, extending its range of flexible laminates for cladding curved surfaces. The first press for processing sheets and laminates in reels enters into operation at the group’s plant in Lombardy.
PURICELLI HT S.p.A. is founded.
The new Teramo production site is opened for the production of new high-pressure laminate products, but with a new continuous process. Streets ahead of anything in use anywhere else in the world, these new production lines once again proved the extraordinary foresight of the founder
Drawing from its extensive experience as a supplier of laminate flooring, the Puricelli Group launches a new product: PURIFLOOR, a snap-together floating laminate flooring manufactured entirely at the Puriplast Iberica plant.
In response to growing interest from emerging new markets, the company decides to open a new production site in Soliman, Tunisia.
This decision gave rise to PURICELLI TUNISIE s.a.r.l., a subsidiary dedicated to the production and sale of laminates to the key emerging markets in Africa and the Middle East.
The Puricelli Group already has an established range of laminate products manufactured with water-based resins introduced a number of years earlier. With the new millennium, the group takes this commitment to safeguarding the environment and the end user a step further by introducing a new PHENOL-FREE resin which, in just a few short years, will allow the Puricelli Group to revise the entire production process for all of its products and attain VOC A+ certification in recognition of an entire product range with practically zero emissions.
Always one step ahead of the latest trends and aware of the strategic role of the Chinese market, the Puricelli Group opens a showroom with warehouse in Shanghai for the sale of proudly Italian-made laminates.
Through the efforts of its new in-house research and development centre, the Puricelli Group is now ready to launch a spate of revolutionary new products destined to change the role of premium laminate products for ever in cladding applications.
The launch of the MOREMATT product range (ultra-matte, fingerprint-resistant and highly wear-resistant surfaces) met with astonishing success.
Collaboration between the leading veneer producers in the industry and our R&D department led to the creation of MOREWOOD, a laminate product with a genuine wood surface. This new product offers superlative performance, such as very high mechanical strength and wear resistance, and is suitable for all applications including heavy duty marine applications, as testified by IMO MED certification.
Advances in technology and evolving style trends led the company to focus on the manufacture of products with superior design that truly offer something new to the market. After launching its collections of fingerprint-resistant and genuine wood veneer surfaces, the Puricelli Group revolutionised the world of laminates with a range of metal-surfaced products. The result is the patented MIXIS laminate collection with an embossed and stamped metal surface.
This year, to complete its range of structural products for furnishing and building applications, the Puricelli Group has launched the new COMPACT POSTFORMING compact self-supporting postforming laminate range.
